KING’S Road ran out winners last night in a makeshift 18-over thrash against a Harris team short on players.

Orange Caps Matt Cocken, Chris MacNicol and Amir Alipour had to swap sides and fill in for the opposition so the game at Barn Elms in Barnes could go ahead.

Harris hit 147 before their overs came to a close. The Road then smacked 151 to win by four wickets.

Hard-hitting all-rounder Shailesh Joshi scored the winning boundary with an over to spare to finish on 36 not out.

Michael Rossi top scored with a quickfire career-best 42 and opener Leon Watson was the mainstay, batting through to end up on 37 not out.

Both Matt and Amir bowled but neither could take a wicket against The Road and Chris kept wicket for Harris.
