SORDID skip Matt Cocken has been sensationally sacked from his second job as club chairman after being caught sending sexy texts – to HIMSELF.

The burly Northerner had been getting his closed-season cricket kicks by firing off saucy snaps of his bat and ball in front of a bathroom mirror.

Girlfriend Val Lockwood found them and thought he had another lover.

But the distraught WAG was left horrified when she released Matt, unlike England star Ashley Cole, wasn’t cheating – he just loved himself.

Matt’s mobile phone reveals his steamy X-rated “exchanges” lasted hours and started two weeks ago when the chairman was also made captain.

Pals said The Road’s new skip – who was made chairman last year – just got too big for his boots and began loving himself too much.

One, who did not want to be named, said: “The power just went to his head, so to speak, and he went around blowing his own trumpet.

“I heard he’d started calling himself ‘The Chaptain’. For some reason he thought that was funny because he was chairman and captain.

“But everyone said there’s no way they could let him take control like this, and after the sex texts thing he was was told he wasn’t wanted as chairman.

“I hope they take the captaincy off him as well and give it to Raju Mazumder because I was and still am the best man for the job and I should never have lost that election.”

All-rounder Matt last night admitted taking the snaps of himself while “larking about” over the winter.

Matt said: “I just got bored because I wasn’t getting any cricket.”

The shameless skip had tried to claim the texts were to a “sexy blonde” – but when Val confronted him Matt admitted he’d been sending them to his own number.

One of the raunchy reflected snaps shows Matt “in all his glory” wearing full cricket whites – and he’s clearly aroused.

After being alerted to the scandal by a whistleblower known only as “Mazu Rajumder”, Matt was sacked in an Extraordinary Online Meeting of the KRCSC committee last week.

Speaking after the meeting, fixtures secretary Raju Mazumder said: “The committee has ruled that Matt could not continue in his role as club chairman.

“His actions are a disgrace and I will personally keep a close eye on his conduct as captain of the team.

“At the King’s Road Cricket and Social Club we expect the highest standards of sexual behaviour and will not tolerate incidents like this.”

It is understood details of how a new chairman will be chosen will be released soon.

Matt could also face criminal charges because sending indecent images over an electronic network is an offence under the 2003 Communications Act – punishable by up to six months’ jail or a fine of £5,000.
