Super spinner Amir Alipour has revealed his start to the season has been put on ice after he suffered a severe finger injury in last weekend’s Intra-Club match.
Amir damaged a digit on his right hand fielding a ball hit by newboy Jack Caeser, who went on to make 30 not out in the match on Clapham Common.
Following the knock he was seen holding his hand aloft as he kept score with his other hand from the sidelines.
Amir, who has impressed in pre-season nets, will now be out for around four weeks, he said, and miss Saturday’s game against Corridors CC in Buckinghamshire.
It is a bitter blow for club skip James Couldrey who will have been hoping tosee Amir’s new-found prowess with the ball in action early.
