TURNCOAT Roader Jamie Keating has been warned to expect a day of ducking and diving when he lines up against his teammates on Sunday.
Croydon boy Jamie, 20, kicked off a war of words before he turns out for his old club Beershire at the Haydon’s Road field of dreams in Wimbledon.
In an e-mail sent out to club members, belter Jamie suggested he’s going to target the bowling of King’s Road skip Raju Mazumder.
He said: “Looking forward to facing a flurry of wides from you El-Capitan.”
In response, The Road’s pace attack is getting ready to unleash a barrage of hostile fast bowling for The Poet to expose his weakness against straight balls.
A club insider said: “He’s really fired us up with what he said. Our boys are going to bowl a yard faster when they face Jamie.”
So far this season Jamie has failed to make an impact for the Orange Caps with disappointing scores of 19, 3, 0, 1, 8, 3, 7 not out and 7.
Jamie also missed The Road’s maiden match of the season, meaning he hasn’t won a single game in 2009 – something the bowlers are sure to remind him of.
