KING’S Road failed to finish off the Battersea Badgers and slipped to a two wicket defeat at the weekend – their fourth in a row against the olde enemy.
The Orange Caps, having won the toss at Wandsworth Common, batted first and hit an encouraging 189 built around the ever-reliable Tom Barnes’s 78.
But after getting the Badgers down 158 for 8, The Road failed to finish of their rivals who ran out winners with two overs to spare.
Stuart Barker and Robin Mackrell held on when their side were in trouble to take the Badgers home.
It was the second tight match in a row for The Road, who got the better of Westway CC in their season opener last week.
