BARNES-STORMING Tom Barnes bagged The Road’s top Player of the Year award at the end of season bash last weekend.
Keeper Tom also picked up the Best Batsman award for his incredible batting during which he plundered 334 runs at an average of more than 41.
The “orange-tie” event, hosted by Raju Mazumder and Giles Fagan, was held at The Rose pub, just off the club’s spiritual home of New King’s Road.
It included a players’ fashion show after which Rich Peralta was voted Best Dressed on Night for his outrageously orange outfit by the club WAGS.
Among the other winners were Amir Alipour-Mehraban, who won Most Embarrassing Moment for the hilarious moment he ran the wrong way fielding a ball, and Dan Sherman, who was named Newcomer of the Year in a hotly-contested category.
Raju’s mum Mama Mazumder also regained the coveted Teasmaker of the Year trophy for her tasty spiced treats, having lost it last year to Matt Cocken.
And to top off the night club stalwart and fixtures secretary Raju was awarded a special surprise Lifetime Achievement gong for the dedication he’s shown to helping run The Road.
